I'm sure many will be excited by the following email I received from KK Eishindo today.

Dear sirs,

Flexible track;
1,060mm flexible rail will be released on January '09.

Point rail is under development.
At first, manual point rail will be released, and after that electric
version.
(Please refer to attached file of electric.ver. of prototype.)

ICE and N700 is under development.
Since approved by DB during Nurnberg Toy Fair, we had to design 25m
class chassis construction.
(Please refer to attached file of prototype.)

T-gauger line up scheduled as below;
 ・Type 103 (20m class)
 ・Type 9000 (19m class)
 ・Type KIA40 (21m class)
 ・Type ICE & N700 (25m class)
 ・Monorail series (Tokyo, Osaka & Okinawa)
 ・Street Train (12m class)/Old timer (14m~16m class)
 ・Steam Locomotive range

With best regards,

Kazuya Oda
K.K EISHINDO

The files were a video of the prototype electric points (which I feel sure look nothing like the eventual product) and some outlines of the ICE and N700 bullet trains.

What surprised me is the length of the flex track and the mention of a monorail and steam locomotive range.

N700! Lovely, just what I want. Very Happy
That length of flex track is very surprising. I was expecting 610mm at the best I thought only 450mm was more realistic.
I can't wait

Ian

1060mm is 41.7 inches! Wow this is great, too bad I started a (bought sectional track) layout already.

Wow! Excellent news. The Shinkansen could be really cool to see. The Kiha 40 railcar would be a great starting point for kitbashing as well.

The Steam locomotive and monorails do look interesting. By "street train" I assume they mean streetcars or trams. This is even better. Eishindo is taking excellent steps to ensure the viability of T Gauge.

Can't wait to see more. Love to see those videos too.

Point Rail would be a turnout or switch track Smile

I just noticed that for the ICE trains they had to design a 25m chassis. More realistic sized passenger cars Very Happy!

Awesome news. The "street train" is probably the most interesting for me. Powered diesels!

Wow! Very Happy
Especially looking forward to see that KIHA 40 and the 'street train'!
I think I will wait just a while to design my layout until I can get a couple of those flexrails! And switches.. nice! Very Happy

Yes, I noticed the "street train" and its short chassis. Should be very useful for those wishing to make powered diesel locos. And if the chassis / mechanism is to also be available separately (as they had previously told me), it opens the way to others making body kits available to make just about anything.

How long until a 6-axle mech comes out?

Now, will those street trains be able to negotiate 1" radius curves, I wonder?

Wink

...And will they be able to negotiate those corners with less than 100mph? Wink

Perhaps with the N700 having a larger cross section than the Class 103 or the forthcoming Hankyu 9000 they will be able to get a bigger, better motor in there...
Bet it won't tilt though Laughing

Ian, it probably will, but more like 90 degrees instead of the original 1 degree Laughing

I think it will be a real challenge for the guys at Eishindo to get a well-performing motor in a small streetcar..

I can't wait to see pictures. Think these items will come out next year?

I wonder if the powered switches will use pager motors. Smile

In regards to trams/trolleys, I thought I was pushing it when I was hoping they'd come up with a drive that would negociate a 3" curve. Smile

I wonder if Marklin and Micro-Trains have caught wind of T-Gauge and what they might think of it.
