I don't know if anyone has mentioned this... but I just accidentally found it on Hobby Search!

Unfortunately reservation is closed....

Hankyu 9000 Series

It looks quite nice in the photo and is one of my favourite sets in Osaka.

Yep;
I've been on the waiting list quite a while myself.
Who knows when it will be released though. It's a crucial model for the range I think. It's about twice the price of the class 103. I hope the performance will be significantly improved for that price differential.

In studying the photo carefully, the foreground car appears to be a powered unit; the rear truck seems to be geared. Ahead of the truck is a curved depression in the chassis, suggesting clearance for a gear.

If the above speculation is correct, it is possible to conclude that the drivetrain is substantially different. This may be cause for some cautious optimism.

Even one more stage of reduction would help on the gearing.

This model's detailing looks much better then the JNR 103 Series from the photographs that are on the internet. A shame though that the Hankyu and JNR/JR trains cannot run on the same tracks. The gauge differences are respectively 1435mm and 1067mm. However, this is only when one is focussing on realism Wink

It would be cool though to build a station with two or more railway companies with different gauges. Something inspired by Sannomiya Station in Kobe: http://snavinet.fc2web.com/hankyu-sannomiya_07012704.jpg (Left an Hankyu 8100 series, right a JR West 223-2000 Series)
