First post so here goes.
I've just got rid of my Maerklin mini-club because it was too small, and I now find that somehow I have ordered and received my oval of track and train in T-gauge.
The plan is to lay a basic oval on a woodbase and construct a case round it.
Scenery will be wood blocks either painted or covered in printed paper to represent buildings.
What is the best way to fix the track down?
I was thinkin6 either Double sided sticky tape patches, or copydex type glue.
What are your thoughts/preferences?
Thanks for your input
Tony

Welcome aboard Tony;
Thats a good question, one I don't have an answer for myself. Which is a bit bad as I'll probably start tracklaying on my layout very soon.
I was thinking perhaps of using some kind of white glue. Perhaps a PVA like copydex. But my baseboard surface will be expanded polystyrene. Rather than your wood.

I think I'd be tempted to just use caulk. Or a foam-friendly caulk-like adhesive such as PowerGrab.

You can use "Carpet Tape", a double sticky back tape that is about .004" thick. I got the last roll at Orchard hardware, but I have gotten it a K-Mart too. It's made by 3m and is white, and is removable and re-positionable.

I am going to use it for my track.

I mounted the two ovals on a sheet of plywood using 'Sellotape' brand double sided tape under all the track joints and catenary masts. This worked fine and is how I shall be mounting my larger layout.

Just trim and excess tape off to the trackbed with a sharp knife!

Thanks folks for all your replies.
Looks like double-sided tape is the way to go.
