Dan Stirpe sent me photos of the Hallmark Polar Express ornament on the rails in front of his T Gauge set, and it looks very good. Can't tell for sure but I think it's a 4-6-4 Hudson type.
I went searching today, and found that set on ebay, and picked one up. There are 3 left, ebay item # 230284051588 in case you want to look.
Dan emailed another Hallmark steamer photo that is close too, a little blue 2-6-4 with vandy tender.

The "miniature" Hallmark ornaments I have are all in the 1:300-something range. The smallest, a reproduction of a classic "Standard Gauge" Pacific is still too large for T. It's rather toylike anyway.
I'd like to see the smaller ornaments. I missed getting the Polar Express set because I tend to gamble and shop for ornaments after Christmas for the half-off discount. They get expensive at full price. |

If anything, the Polar Express might be a bit small. Dan sent photos of the loco on the track in front of the passenger cars, and the height was the same, and on the top view, the width is the same, so I suspect the loco might be a tiny bit small, but very close to usable.

Maybe they're 1:480 scale?  Judging from a photo, the coaches look a bit short any way.
BTW: I must correct myself regarding the little Hallmark ornament I mentioned above. It's a 4-4-4, not a Pacific. |

The loco should be a 2-8-4 Berkshire. The movie used PM Berkshire 1225. The overall length of the loco and tender is 101'8", or about 68mm overall.
Could we get some closeup shots of the loco and cars? Cars look a bit short for heavyweights, but they could be spliced and lengthened to 85' Trucks may have to be 4 wheeled (or 4 wheeled w/6 axle sideframes??)
