Well, you can't go wrong with a good cup of tea :)
I've just knocked up a new plan, and I think I might go along with this one. Unlike the original one, I'll be able to run two trains at the same time on this one:
I've got all of the track I need now - just need to get a wire foam cutter before I can get anything else done! |

looks great. I like the idea of two seperate lines. my only thought is track access, as i find they need very regular cleaning. |

All of the track will be accessible by lifting the top off of the coffee table, and the tunneled parts will be accessible via some removable mountain lid that I will make up as I go along :) |

Man, you people obviously have a lot more than me as far as any financial aspects when it comes to these projects . Even if you all have jobs... _________________ D.J. (Now also Other David, since Mr. Smith was here first)

Just making up for all those years of not having a train set. I've had nearly 30 years to save up for this one :) |

I feel like I've taken a big step today, as my layout plan had existed only in software before now. To my relief, it looks like I got the maths correct and it fits just as planned!
Here's the outer loop:
Okay, so maybe I could have drilled that big hole in a more sensible location :) |

... and here's the full layout, using around 7 metres of track (obviously there is a lot left to do!):

That's awsome Paul! I had SO many people over the weekend at Sandown exhibition say that would make a great coffee table layout, I told them all about yours. What a great centre piece to a rail enthusiast lounge.
P.S., i like your cat!! |
