The layout name has changed. With the name change has come a solidification of the plan:

Note the plan now includes my handmade switch.

Lots of details on the blog: http://1-450.blogspot.com/

Looking good, however one query about the tunnel...

Given the propensity of T Gauge stock to come off the tracks on a regular basis; how accessible are your tunnels for this situation? You can guarantee the train will derail in the most inconvenient place!

The left side and back of the layout will be open, so there will be full access to the length of the tunnel.

Having said that, I had the layout running for about an hour at a friend's house Wednesday night, and it never derailed. Didn't stall, either--it performed like a champ.

I presume rails will need to be cleaned from time to time like the other scales? Will you still be able to fit an eraser in the tunnel?

Or will T-scalers have to devise motorized rail cleaners?

Oh, the track needs to be cleaned quite regularly. I'm using alcohol on a paper towel for that, which imposes no trouble in the tunnels.

I'm remembering that old Tyco sectional track with steel rails. Does the t-gauge rail rust easily?

Doesn't rust at all. It's some kind of alloy.
