Hi all.
I have been corresponding with Hobby World (www.hwjapan.com) since they changed the website and after which, it would not accept my password.

The situation has now been resolved and I received a very polite and friendly letter from them, a part of which I have quoted below.

>> Thank you very much for your additional report dated 3rd and 4th of September.
Thanks to you, we found that there was a mistake with set up of security system, when we elevated the security level at the time of renewal.
Because of that, you couldn't change member information from our page.
We are very sorry for your inconvenience we caused you.<<

So anyone who has had problems (and several have,) should now find that they can log in. The speed and the politeness with which they solved this problem shows they mean business. I'm well pleased.
Regards,
Allan

I am still waiting for my account to be fixed. I went through the email gamut a few weeks ago, and they swore my account was fixed, but I could still not log in.

I gave up at that point, until the individual track sections were released, after which I want to be able to purchase track.

Anyways I emailed them telling of the errors that I get trying to log in, the errors I get trying to retrieve my password, and the errors I get trying to create a new account.

I am in a catch 22 where when I try to login, it says to try again, like my password in no longer valid.

So I follow the link for "Forget your password?, at which time it gives the error "username not registered"

So I try to sign up again, and it gives an error saying that I cannot have 2 accounts to the same email address.

So I go to Yahoo to make a new email account and it gives me such grief, that I cannot create any accounts where the username is not already used, unless I pick a neam that has 16 characters or so, then it insists I use a miserable long password that i will never learn or remember with mixes of upper and lower case characters and numbers.

What a hassle! They are doing this so I just break down and accept the mark of the beast, to make my life more convienient. Crying or Very sad

This is round 3 of the same thing. I got the email below, which somehoe showed up in my spam folder again, anyways, I try everything to login and to retrieve my password, but I get the same 3 responses. I cannot login, (try again) I cannot retrieve password, (not registered) and I cannot create a new account. (cannot have 2 accounts with same email address)

Dear Mr. Robert Ray

Thank you for your report,
and we are very sorry for your inconvenience we caused you.

Last weekend, we found that the old cusotmer which have used Hobby World International page only cannot login new page
even though they use correct e-mail address and code number.

We reported it to the company which made our new page,
and they have repaired this part today.

Please kindly try again with your registered e-mail address and code number you used for the former page.

Once you login to new page, you will be able to use '' forgot your password? '' page.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Best Regards,
Aiko Oishi

That is such a shame you're locked in a "Twilight Zone." They are otherwise a good retailer; evidently they need to really hammer their webmasters...

Hi Robert,

When I wrote before, I later found that once again my password would not be accepted.
I looked at my original password and it looked as if it was a different pattern. Anyway, I tried different ways of entering it, such as removing the % sign etc and on the fifth attempt it locked me out again!

So I wrote to HW again! I'm damned if this was going to put me off.
Once again I got a very polite reply and a new temporary password. He also said that the password generator could put out incorrectly worded ones!!! In my case this was as follows...
<%PASSWORD%>
He said that if that happened, then please take out the odd characters.
However, the new password worked and I immediately changed it (the message on screen asked me to)
He gave me some extra points as a way of saying thank you and from other letters it appears that he is none too pleased with the webmaster!

He has always been polite and responded quickly to my letters to him and I personally think that this is just a language problem for the webmaster. It doesn't do HW any good though, does it. Actually, I feel sorry for Aiko Oishi.
I've heard of three others who have had the same problem and I hope it all works for them now.

A question for the Japanese speakers here, please. He signs himself as Aiko Oishi. Which is his first name, Aiko or Oishi?

Best wishes to you all out there,

Allan

I signed up for ATT Fiber Optic internet today. When it gets connected, I will probably end up with a new email address, then I will try to register as a new customer, unless their website says a user with that name is already registered, or something similar.
