Has anyone found a good supply of 1:450/480/500 scale buildings? I was hoping to find a supplier of off-the-shelf standardised architectural models, but alas can't seem to find any. Even just basic plastic ones would do, suitable for customisation.

Any ideas?

Herpa's "Wings" series offers some options, although most are decidedly European in nature.

Agreed. Although the airport structures are generic and modular, allowing you to make a variety of different modern city structures.

I think their parking garage is pretty neat, although I've tried twice now to order a couple from vendors who claimed they were in stock, only to receive notice they really weren't.

Thanks for those. Hmmm, I'd seen those Herpa Wings products; but they're relatively restrictive. There must be some architectural modelling supply company out there that mass-produces blank building elements...

Here's a crazy idea that just came to me.
I don't know if it will work as I've not seen the game for a while.
But is it possible that the houses and hotels in the game of monopoly might be able to serve some purpose?
Of course I'm going on memories from "when I were a lad"(35 years ago now), When they seemed to be a pretty reasonable sized structure. Things have probably changed since then. But they might work for Tim's idea of a model of a model railway...

Tim, possibly your best bet would be to take the George Sellios approach, a core of clear acrylic and styrene on the otuside. That's probably the easiest way, and the least expensive. one piece of clear acrylic shhould be enough for several buildings

That's a good idea. We actually already use that technique for some of our smaller model buildings in 1:12 scale that involve using a lot of glass, such as conservatories. It's no different to N-scale stock that's similarly made, but painted where windows don't occur, I guess.

I use some Military series 1/700 Plastic Models such as Harbor ,Hanger .
They are so huge so fits to 1/450 world.

I found some traditional European and Japanese castle model 1/400 -1/500 too.

Transparent block such as eraser is also good.

Paper models.by my friend .

I am thinking that paper models might be an idea. There are many kits out there, and they could be reduced or enlarged to scale on a good color copier.
