Today at about 10:15 am my wife went out shopping. Leaving me to my own devices. After bolstering my nerve with a nice coffee ftom my local coffee shop I set to and attacked a few items for the layout.
First up was the platform. I measured up the height the platform would need to be against the Eishindo track. About 6.3mm would be a good height. What do you know? I just happened to have some 6.3mm evergreen strip to hand. So just by laminating different thicknesses of styrene together After a few hours, close to 4 I think I had a station platform. Long enough for 4 cars.
Here's an overall shot

Here's a close up of what I assume to be some kind of baggage or freight platform at the end of the structure

While glue was setting on these I also worked on the cherry blossom trees . I was thrown for a loop by the immense size of these things I'm used to seeing 8-12' tall trees. But a mature sakura can grow to 40' tall. These models scale up to 30-35 feet even so the height still scares me.
Here's a couple of cruel close ups of two armatures coated in latex caulk

That wasn't all I've been working on the platform shelter too but it is tiny and I will shortly be on my third attempt to recreate it.
But I'm not giving up on that no way.
Not a bad afternoons work. What was I going to do otherwise watch the risible Minnesota Vikings?

Ian

Nice work Ian. Good to see people making progress with their 't' adventures! I took my sets and set them up in the shop, so my progress has slowed to a halt unfortunately.

6.3mm evergreen eh? I think we may need to do a re-order for the shop, cunning excuse eh Wink

If this link works it should produce an overall view of the platform area for comparison

Nice work! There are 3 guys in out Z-Bend Track club with T Gauge now, and we ran trains all weekend at the San Jose train show. T Gauge was a real hit, as many people had never seen Z Scale, and nobody had seen T before. Very Happy

Great job, Ian! Looks like you'll have a first-class layout soon.

Great to see the layout starting to take shape Ian. Love the platform and can't wait to see the station.

Thanks;
The platform shelter is so small (11mm x 4.5mm x 7mm approx) I actually lost one version of it last night... Embarassed

I did find it after a while though. Smile

Excellent work. I'm still exploring this forum and just found this. How is it coming? I happen to have some I-beams just like your station. I am going to have to give it a shot.

Like the trees, too!

Thanks!
Somewhere on my model making desk I have the section that contains the outside toilets made up as well.
Somewhere.... Wink Trouble is that in T what could look like a scrap of styrene section could well be something important...
Trees are easy you should have a go...
