Inside the car set box there is an interesting descriptive diagram and text. I have not seen anyone else comment on this.

There are illustrations of consists of four to ten cars.

There seems to be four kinds of cars described -
    103 end cars
    103 power car with pantograph
    102 power car
    103 intermediate car

The last is not included with the basic set.

There also what appears to me to be a description of an add-on set of 2 each of the pantograph, motor, and intermediate cars for 8,000 Yen. this set would allow the building of longer consists as shown.

Note, I puzzled this out without knowing any Japanese, maybe someone can describe this better.

Is there any word on the add-on sets? I've never seen any mention of them.

Bob

I haven't heard word of these being produced, but I did find info on the English Eishindo site...

They've had extension sets on the books almost forever, but I think they kind of got distracted doing other cool stuff, and this plan may have slipped through the cracks.

Besides which, you can make your own extension set with a second basic set--you just can't use the end cars because they won't couple to anything, so each "pretend extension set" is just two cars.

I ordered the spare bogies from the SAHA (intermediate) car last November. The intention being to use them under scratchbuilt models. These bogies have no springs or gears fitted.

These do appear on the spare parts price list, but I was told that "development of the SAHA is still pending as users are enjoying the 4-car combinations so far". Which is probably a way of saying it's not a priority for now. You also have to wonder if 10-car sets would be somewhat problematic. They may well be delaying the introduction of the extra cars until the improved mechanisms are available.

Ask me later in the week. Last I heard, complimentary parts were to be included in future orders. My next order is in Melbourne. After the customs formalities are done, I should have it in a few days time.

If not, doubtless I'll have them in the following order.
Apparently Eishindo have sent me another parcel today, consisting of various promotional items for the Sandown show - including one mystery item I have not yet heard of. However, included is a Mountain Train demo. Very Happy Even comes with a piece of flexible track and a power box.

Ooooh, the excitement grows. I feel like a kid full of red cordial. Shocked
