|
|
My apologies if this subject has been introduced before (I didn't see it), or if this is the wrong place.
Given that for possibly quite a while all ready made T gauge trains are going to follow Japanese outline, are there any sources of information on the net and in English about the Japanese railways?
PS: To forestall any questions or comments about the "ready made", I will NOT be scratch building T gauge locos and rolling stock, should I decide to build a T layout. In this scale, as in Z, they will have to come ready to run out of the box! _________________ Gary

The sites that I have found have been fairly few as the disclaimer at the bottom of this page here says "Unfortunately, good information in English is still rare in Japan, even in times of the World Wide Web."
The links on the page however are a good place to start
http://www.japan-railways.com/linkse.htm
They will probably lead you to others.
There are a few Japanese railways groups on Yahoo was well
JRForum and Jtrains.

That link works much better when the "." at the end is removed.
Gary, Eishindo do have at least one non-Japanese prototype planned that I am aware of. That being the German ICE. _________________ Darren,

That is weird as I could have sworn I just cut and pasted the link into the message right from the website. _________________ I CAN see how cool this stuff is!!!

Thanks Ian and Darren, that gives me something to start with. It might perhaps be more interesting to see Eishindo come out with a Japanese "Bullet Train" or similar, but I'll certainly be most interested to see what actually does get released. As I indicated in another thread, I've got plenty of time to wait and see at the moment. _________________ Gary
