Hi
First post for me here. I have been absoloutely captivated by these products since their introduction and I'm getting pretty close to ordering my first set.
Something I don't understand, and it sounds so simple it's silly, but with respect to reversing a train's direction, do you just flip a switch on the powerpack? In most of the adverts I see for Eishindo and T scale I see the sets including a "reversing section" of track. Can a train's direction only be changed at that specific point of track?
I was thinking about designing a stub terminal layout and it would be handy to know where to put the reversing sections.
Cheers, thanks

Chris, welcome to the gang!
The Eishindo power supply has a direction pushbutton, plus direction indicator lights. Just pressing the button will reverse the train. There is no toggle switch to throw. The train can be manually reversed anywhere on a layout.
The reason for the pushbutton control is that the system allows you to automatically reverse the train. The throttle comes with a pair of sensors, which you can place at the ends of a length of track that does not form a continuous loop. So, you can create a "layout" with only a length of straight track and a sensor at each end. When a train reaches a sensor, it is stopped and reversed.
Additionally, the throttle allows you to set a time delay, which keeps the train parked for a specific amount of time before being sent off again (this is actually the preferred method of operation in order to reduce wear and tear on the motors).
As for creating a layout that has a "reversing section" (as in a loop that turns back on itself), this assumes you have a track switch (or turnout). Eishindo has not released any track switches yet.
Hope this information is helpful! _________________ —David
