Hmm, I wonder if KK-Eishindo, or a fellow modeller, would consider something like this...

You could use Z or N scale tracks, there would be plenty of room for a motor in the coaches, possibly even a Z motor, and there would be plenty of room for detail. Plus, like all T-gauge does, this train goes fast! _________________ D.J. (Now also Other David, since Mr. Smith was here first)

Ha--I was thinking about Supertrain the other day. I wonder how many here remember the series. With all the lousy movie/TV remakes being made, I'm halfway expecting Supertrain to reappear.
I only vaguely remember the series myself. I did however keep an article torn from TV Guide from that time showing the miniature sets. This article looks like the one posted below, but in rattier shape.
There were some really bizarre aspects to the show. For starters the train cars were super wide, and kind of short in proportion. I just can't wrap my head around a long-distance train network with a single-track right of way wider than double-track standard gauge! Looking at it from a 1:1 scale economic standpoint it's mind-boggling. Second, standard-gauge trains were depicted in the miniature sets with STEAM-ERA locomotives and rolling stock! Oh, I remember that "train wreck" of a show all too well. There are a bunch of clips and some whole episodes on YouTube, for the adventurous. _________________ —David

If I'm correct ( which is rare ), while looking through my giant collection of old train magazines from random dates between 60's-90's, I recall a person selling one of the models of Supertrain... wonder what came of it? _________________ D.J. (Now also Other David, since Mr. Smith was here first)

Hi there,
First post here , but this caught my attention. It's funny but I have a taste for the obscure when I scratchbuild models. I'm currently doing drawings for just this project. there are three trains I wish to model in this scale. First is Supertrain, I'm almost done with the drawings for all the different passenger cars and steam powered turbine locomotive. second, is the MK 4 Monorail, I've already done this in N scale, and third, is the MK1 monorail. I've acess to both a laser cutter and a decent 3d printer for doing the body shells. we'll see how they turn out soon. As for the Supertrain project, I'm currently adding the finishing touches on the windows and doors, other than that, it's pretty much ready to model. So you know I'm serious, heres a snap of my cad drawing sorry about the focus, but you can definitly tell what it is
Best regards,
Will

Slightly off-topic, but was ST run on a nuclear reacter or something of that nature, not a steam turbine? _________________ D.J. (Now also Other David, since Mr. Smith was here first)
