A twist on the belted layout concept I don't recall seeing before--a crossing at grade. I also don't recall a trolley. I've been tempted to get some of these trains (without the layout) for static diorama use...

Tiny Trains have made the "Malfunction Junction" layout for some time now. I've never ordered one, but have been tempted to, just to find out how the crossing works. I mean, for belt drive, I'd have thought it was impossible. I can think of one possibility, but not sure if I'm right. In any case, TY is hideously expensive compared to T gauge, so unless Tim lowers his prices and / or the AU$ - US$ exchange rate dramatically improves, I don't think I'll be ordering any more TY layouts.
