Not sure what you mean. There are several new posts a day--busier, in fact, than I'd expected it to be.

I love this site, and I'm about to move from Z scale to T.

But sometimes, when I visit your site, I hear, through my computer's speakers, a repeating, cricket sounding "chirp". It's not unpleasant, but I was curious if this was happening for anyone else...

Keep it up!

Nothing that I've set up to play, nor does it happen for me. I have a sneaking suspicion it might be produced by one of the ads that run at the bottom of the page. That's the only thing I could think of that would make sense.

I've heard it too, and I think it is one of the ads

It is!

The one telling you you have a message.

Still, I guess the site has to be funded by some method!

Absolutely. This forum doesn't cost a dime. Which is a good thing, sine it leaves me with more to spend on T Gauge.

haha! I have the speaker on my work computer in the back by all the lasers. I was hearing the cricket chirp, and then it started getting louder. I did not know where it was coming from, so i checked all the lasers, and all the chillers. I could not find it, so I gave up.

So I went back to my computer and went to another site, and never noticed the chirp had stopped.

This morning it started again, but only on the F40PH topic. I scrolled down to the bottom of the page and there was that blue wiggly screen that says to check your computer with their software. It's that add banner that causes it.

Then why are there adverts, including the cricket chirp? If they're not funding the site, what is their purpose apart from, in one case, providing the annoying chirp?

Let me clarify: it's the ads that pay for the site, instead of me. I could have the ads removed, but then I have to pony up a hosting fee.

Sorry for misrepresenting it! I see my mistake: I should have said, "This forum doesn't cost me a dime."

Well, after all this time since creating this forum, I finally heard the cricket chirp. Yes, it's the "you have a message" ad.
