Whilst Flicking through David's Z scale blog recently I found this entry
Today Is Z Day
Rob Kluz of Ztrack magazine has declared 20 February to be the "International Day of Z." I must say that I like this idea. During these times of global economic crisis and other troubling events, we can certainly use a distraction, and what better way might there be to improve our mood than to pay some attention to a possibly neglected hobby?
So why not an international day of T?

Good idea. It might help bring together the devotees of this gauge.
Now given that Z day is the 20th of February - ie 220 in the way that our North American friends will insist on having it - why not make T Day the 3rd of May? That date is the 3rd day of the Month of May - ie 3 MM.
OK, I know it's corny _________________ Gary
